 Counting Our Blessings

The testimony of what God has done to show his love for me started long ago.  I was born in 1953, was raised by hard-working parents who took me to church as a child.  My inspirational role models for attending church were my late grandparents, Jed and Adra Looney, who attended the Whitespires Church in Albany, where my father also attended.

The late Muriel McCormick, a local in the Oakville/Shedd area, was my Sunday school teacher in my youth; teaching at the Oakville Church.  Not only was she was fun but she also made learning about Christ fun.  That was my foundation for believing in Christ.

After receiving a Speech Communications degree in the mid-seventies, I returned home to the family farm. Months later, after intense prayer for God to help me change my life with new maturity, I met my future wife, Maureen. After dating for almost a year, Maureen and I were married in 1979.

God gave me my wife, my two children to follow, a successful farming career, and most of all, the love of Christ. We have attended church together ever since our marriage began. We know how we have been blessed.  We count our blessings every day, never taking for granted the challenges God gives us to face. Walking with Christ everyday is the source of satisfaction in an imperfect world.
