Back to Our Stories   More than Luck

I interpret God's love as putting me into an environment where, from the earliest age, my life was greatly enriched.  I was born into a family with noble, talented, thoughtful and loving parents, and a very bright, fun and loving brother, (and this doesn't include dozens of colorful relatives!).

When I was what we now call "middle school" age, my parents took me to an extraordinary piano teacher who understood my great love for music, and shaped the next important years of study around that truth.

Also at that age, Morton Booth arrived in Albany, to become one of the truly great influences in the lives of everyone in the church.  It was unthinkable to miss one of his early Sunday morning classes for teenagers, all of whom found the courage of conviction from his wisdom.

At the time this was happening, I didn't equate my greatly blessed life with more than "luck."  I see now that God's love was paramount in bringing these remarkable people into my life as forces of strength and understanding which would be with me throughout my life.

Of course, my life continued, with marriage, children, grandchildren and loyal friends.  Those early influences through God's love, have stayed with me always.  I feel that I am always in His care.
